Biography For Mark Masters

Mark Masters started playing and mixing with his decks from an early age – in fact his love of music and getting his first set of decks started in the summer of 96. The last eight years he has been playing professionally…

A born and bred clubber at heart, with a strong passion for music from an early age, highly influenced by people such as Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Judge Jules & Scott Bond.

He started his DJ career in local pubs playing what he loved at the time which was Retrospective House. His Tuesday & Thursday nights down the Local Bars/Pubs in Camberley turned into a big success playing House Music in summer 1998. After a while he got a huge following & got offered to play in Farnham Uni as their new Resident DJ and many other venues in Surrey.

As time got on he changed his music style to Progressive & Uplifting Trance. Now it seems he can do no wrong, with a huge following from Birmingham to Bournemouth - the name Mark Masters was born.

Mark has had residences at various clubs. He has had the opportunity of playing with a variety of top class DJ’s like… Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Alfredo, Lottie, AJ Gibson, Dan Bailey, Jay Walker, Lisa Pin Up to name only a few and went back 2 back with Ariel resident at Fabric – London: “It was an inspiration to say the least… AWESOME”

UK Tours: Godskitchen, Euphoria, Fabric, Slinky, Orange & Manumission.

Mark has a unique way of mixing records, which is his forte. When he plays out he interacts with the crowd to make sure they are enjoying themselves and always gives 110%.

One of his memorable memories was DJ’ing at the Hotel Bahia in Ibiza, which was formally owned by Ministry Of Sound. He only played an hour set of Funky US House for this Pre Pasha warm-up party but the atmosphere was something else.

After this he also worked for Reece Elliott’s www.wildchild-uk.com for 2/3 years, where he helped out making Wildchild what it is today … One of London’s Biggest UK Clubs Nights.

In the mean time he entered into a few DJ Competitions around England as well as starting up his own Night:

Interviewed Live on Galaxy FM by Nick Riley & Andy Durrant for Nu-Breeds Upcoming Talent in the UK.

After Wildchild and Galaxy FM he wanted to venture into his own Club/Bar Night.

He got together with some friends who were running a club night at the time called Casafunk … After sitting down and thinking about what he wants and where he wanted to go, he decided to go ahead and venture into the House Music scene. This was a complete music change and a brave move, which was very exciting but Mark has always enjoyed playing house music.

Now for past 5 years Mark has been running his own Casafunk nights in the London area, as well as getting involved in many other promotions & bar/club nights like Raunchy Rhythms & Dirty Bass, etc…

Mark also helped setup www.SSRadioUK.com in 2005 with some friends, which is now one of the leading online music websites & podcasts downloads. His radio show is on every other Thursday night.
Mark is also part of the promotional team at SSRadio.

With Marks work not being unnoticed in the music industry he was snapped up by Ministry Of Sound to work for the A&R team as a New Music Scout which he is still working for…

Mark is currently making a few sneaky edits and releasing tracks under Junkie DJ’s - but is looking forward to what 2008 has to offer, so watch this space!
